We had our 24 week appointment last Wednesday (January 23) and everything looked right on track. The normal: pee test and heartbeat (a strong 156) then something new they measured my belly to make sure there is enough room for her to keep growing. My belly measured at 25 which I found out later that how many inches your belly measures should be the number of weeks I am along. The doctor said that measuring at 25 was fine since I was actually in the middle of week 24.
Another new thing about this appointment and the next few to come is that we will start meeting with a different doctor each time until we have met all five doctors. At our doctors office there are five delivery doctors so far I have only wanted to meet with my doctor, Dr. Wing, but now that we are getting closer to the end they want us to start meeting with everyone in the office. This is all great and fine since any of the doctors could deliver our baby since it will be whoever is on call that day. This time we meet with Dr. Hines. One interesting fact about Dr. Hines is that she helped deliver the McCaughey septuplets from Des Moines, IA born in 1997. I remember watching as Dateline did a special on the family each year from the time they were born until they turned 10. Dr. Hines also delivered my bosses two little girls so I know if she is who we end up having she will do a great job.
Lastly, Jason and I are finalize our names list and will hopefully have it posted by the end of the day tomorrow…so stay tuned to find out the name!
