Where has the time gone

Holy cow! We had Kinley's two month check up today and I carefully took notes so that I could share with our family and friends when we got home. I logged onto our blog and discovered it has been over 6 weeks since the last time I blogged! I couldn't believe it, seriously it had been six weeks! Well we will start with the newest news and work backwards.

7/20: Kinley's two month check up
Everything went GREAT at Kinley's two month check up today! She is now 23 1/4" long and 12 pounds which means she has grown 2 1/2" and gained about 3.5 pounds. She is in the 80th percentile for both categories and our doctor said she was perfect! He said he was very happy with both her weight and height gain and to keep doing what we have been doing. She also got three shots and one oral medication. She did great with the shots and oral medication, there was a very little bit of crying but it was over as soon as the needle was pulled out. All and all the appointment went very well and we are very glad she is doing wonderful.

Other updates:
6/13-27 Kansas trip

Kinley took her first road trip! We were able to go to Kansas for two weeks to visit family and friends. We had a blast and she did a great job the whole two weeks we were home. On June 27th we had Kinley baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa. The neat thing about her baptism was that she got to share the special day with her second cousin Harper. Harper and Kinley have many crazy things in common. Here are just a few examples: Harper's mom, Natalie is my cousin and we are exactly seven month apart ironically Kinley and Harper are exactly seven days apart. Both Harper and Kinley spend time in the NICU and had oxygen when they were born. Now they have one more thing in common with their moms; the preacher who baptized Natalie and I also baptized the two of them. Natalie and I have always had a close relationship since we grew up across the alley from each other so hopefully our two daughter can have that same relationship!

6/27-7/3 Grandma Cheryl & Grandpa Garth visit
We had a great week while Grandma Cheryl & Grandpa Garth visited. The highlight of their trip was taking a quick day trip to visit Grandma Cheryl's cousin Cindy, her husband Ken and their family in Illinois. Again, Kinley did great in the car and was a total showoff for their whole family. We had a great time with Grandma Cheryl & Grandpa Garth and hope they can come back to visit soon!

7/2-5 Grandma Dee, Grandpa Kevin, Aunt Margo, Uncle Sam, Cousin Ebony, and Uncle Jeff visit
We had a  FULL house over the 4th of July weekend. Not only was Grandma Cheryl & Grandpa Garth here visiting but Grandma Dee, Grandpa Kevin, Aunt Margo, Uncle Sam, Cousin Ebony, and Uncle Jeff all came to visit also! Our Kansas family arrived late Friday night so we didn't get to do much. Saturday was spend with each person enjoy activities that they enjoyed. Grandpa Kevin, Grandpa Garth, Uncle Sam and Uncle Jeff spend the day in Des Moines at a Good Guys car show, Grandma Dee, Aunt Margo and Cousin Ebony spend the day shopping in Waterloo, Grandma Cheryl kept Kinley at our house all while Jason and I were volunteering with the Waterloo Jaycees at their Fireworks Festival. I was in charge of the beers sales for the second year so Jason and I had a full day of getting things ready for the big festival. Everyone joined us on 4th street in Waterloo for the Fireworks Festival in the evening. Sunday was spend catching up on sleep and lounging around the house. Sadly, we had to say good by to Grandma Dee, Grandpa Kevin, Aunt Margo, Uncle Sam, Cousin Ebony, and Uncle Jeff on Monday as they all had to head back to Kansas. I did check the Stinson Inn reservation book and it looks like everyone will be returning in 2011 for another wonderful July 4th weekend!

7/8-16 Second trip to Kansas
We took our second trip to Kansas the beginning of July. This trip was much quicker than the first but we will had a great time. Kinley and I had a great time celebrating Grandma Dee and Grandpa Kevin's 30th anniversary while we were home. Their anniversary is actually August 1st but since this was the closest time we were going to be home their kids threw them an anniversary party with their friends and family. I think everyone had a great time and had fun oooing and aweing over Kinley!

7/16-19 Grandma Debbie, Grandpa Keith & Great-Grandma Bonnie come to visit
We were so great-full Grandma Debbie, Grandpa Keith & Great-Grandma Bonnie were able to come visit us last weekend. The 77th annual Waterloo Open was happening which Jason and I are both on the planning committee so we were in desperate need for a babysitter for Kinley. So graciously Grandma Debbie, Grandpa Keith & Great-Grandma Bonnie volunteered to come babysit Kinley and Beasley! We had a great time with the on Sunday night at a very yummy dinner that Grandma Debbie made then we had to sadly say goodbye to them on Monday morning.

7-19
I returned to work part time! I can't believe eight weeks flew by so fast. Not only is Kinley two months old but I have to return to work. Lucky for me it is only four hour a day so I can handle being gone that long! At this time Jason is keeping Kinley at home with him but we are also looking into daycare so we will see what happens when I go back to work full time.

I also went back to the doctor today to have my incision checked. As I reported in my last post my incision from my c-section came open the day we brought Kinley home from the hospital and we have been working to get it to healed since. Jason has been a wonderful doctor and is doing his best to make the healing process go quick and smooth. It has now been almost 8 weeks since the incision came open so to say the least I am frustrated that it is not healing.  I saw my OB doctor where she sent me onto the wound clinic since these kind of things usually heal in 6 weeks. Once I was at the wound clinic they completely changed my treatment; we are now only changing the dressing once a day and no more irrigation or packing. This mean Jason job has been cut way down and my pain level will hopefully go way down! I will go back to the wound clinic once a week from now until the wound is completely healed. The doctor I saw today said he is very hopeful it will be 3 weeks or less until I am completely healed.

I think that mostly bring everything up to speed! I promise to do a better job of updating the blog and keeping everyone updated with our lives! I will post some highlight pictures from the past month in the next couple of days! Happy Tuesday everyone!
