First airplane trip

Kinley took her first airplane trip yesterday and she was wonderful!

Our trip began very early Friday morning! We had to leave our hotel in KC at 5am which meant Jason and I were up at 3:45am. We decided to let Kinley sleep as long as possible so we woke her up at 4:45am and got right on the shuttle to the airport. Check in and security were a breeze! If any of you follow my other blog (Journey to Fit and Fabulous) you know how stressed out I was about going through security and the flight but nothing to worry about it all went great. Once we were though security we had about an hour and a half before our flight so we fed Kinley her breakfast and waited for time to board. Once we were done feeding her breakfast I went to get our ticket to gate check her car seat and stroller when the gate agent informed me that the flight was not full so we could take her car seat on the plane with us if we wanted. We quickly agreed knowing this would be a comfort for her and less for me to worry about with the airline carrying for it under the plane. The other bonus with us taking her car seat with us was we could have a whole row to ourselves (we flew Southwest so there are no assigned seats, you just pick your seat once your board the plane). Our first flight was from KC to Las Vegas which is just over three hours! Kinley did great and was very entertained by a bottle of Coke that Jason had brought with him.

Once we landed in Las Vegas we were suppose to have a 2.5 hour layover but we noticed the gate right next to where we came is was going to Reno leaving in 20 minutes so we asked if we could changes flights and the gate agents said no problem! We were in Las Vegas for a total of about 20 minutes before we boarded the second plane and left for Reno.

 Kinley did great on the second flight as well which was only a little over an hour. Once we landed in Reno we were glad we took the earlier flight since the weather was kind of crappy, it was snowing and continued to snow all day.

We decided to take our nap after we landed!

I forgot to mention that the only time she slept during any of our flights was right after take off on the first flight, other than we were wide AWAKE! Kinley defiantly enjoyed  looking all around and watching the people on both our flights.

Once Garth picked us up at the airport we then went to visit Jason's mom at her school where she quickly showed Kinley off to all the other teachers and her friends who work with her. Then we headed to their house where we settled in for the evening. The rest of the night was a little rough for Kinley but she had been though a lot with two flights and a two hour time difference so that was kind of expcted. We are very much looking forward to our 7 day trip and I'm sure there will be many more pictures to come!
