I was so excited to post about Easter earlier that I totally forgot about the other two days of the weekend!
I have been working a ton of hours lately at work and since we came back to Iowa in January I haven't had a day off so Jason and I both decided we needed a three day weekend and took Friday off! We actually had big plans that didn't really end up working out the way we planned.
Thursday night started our three day weekend with taco night and planning out Friday.
Friday we got up bright and early, ok actually it was normal time, and dropped Kinley off at Laura's and here is a run down of the rest of our day:
8:00am. We then headed straight to HyVee to recycle all of our bottles and cans. Neither of us could remember the last time we went so lets just say we had about five huge tubs full! That ended up taking quite a while because there were so many and the machines kept breaking down! We ended up making $17.60 which means we had 352 cans/bottles to recycle! Holy Cow!
9:00am we headed to Village Inn for breakfast. I'm not big on breakfast by Jason loves a big traditional breakfast so he won out! It ended up taking quite a while to get our breakfast because they were super busy since all the local schools were out and I think all the parents thought their kids need breakfast out and the restaurant only had two waitresses!
10:00am we were finally done with breakfast so we headed to ACE to get another paintbrush so I could help Jason stain the deck. We then headed strait home to start staining the deck only to realize that the weather had to be above freezing for 24 hours after applying the stain and it was suppose to get down to 35 Friday night so that bubble got burst! We ended up handing up a lot of pictures and art that I have had for the house for a long time but just never took the time to put up. I love all the changes we made and it defiantly gave the kitchen and living room a facelift.
12:50pm we went to see American Reunion. If you liked any of the American Pie movies then you will like American Reunion! We laughed for two hours strait! If you haven't see the trailer make sure you check out this:
As soon as the movie was over we picked up Kinley and headed to the UNI Softball game. We weren't sure how Kinley would do since we haven't taken her to a game since last May but she did great! Kinley even made the local news!
Make sure not to blink when watching it or you will miss us!
We are in the first few seconds!
Kinley did great for about 4 1/2 innings then she got restless. That was about 4 innings longer than I thought she would last! After the game, which the Panthers won!, we headed home for dinner then it was bed time because we had a big Saturday planned!
