Hello 2013. Goals for this year

I have spend a lot of time thinking about everything that happened during 2012 and in reflection of that what things I would like to accomplish in 2013. I have decided not to set a New Years Resolution but rather set Goals for 2013. When I think about New Years Resolution's I think of things that I must stick to all year and if I fall off the wagon then it is just done. Also I have set a New Years Resolution almost every year and never completed it so maybe by changing the words that will help!

2013 Goals

OnE: Read 13 books in 2013
I love to read and I didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to reading for fun so this year so I'm setting a goal of 13 books. The other thing is I love to buy books so I have all of these sitting around my house that I have wanted to read for years and just haven't got to it!
So far my list here is my list (in no particular order):
1) Fifty Shades of Freed - E.L. James (I have read the other two already so I need to finish the series)
2) Water for Elephants - Sara Gruen
3) Heart of the Matter - Emily Giffin
4) Where We Belong - Emily Giffin
5) My Sister's Keep - Jodi Picoult
6) Lucky -  Alice Sebold
7) Have A Little Faith -  Mitch Albom
8) Between A Heart and A Rock Place - Pat Benatar
9) In Her Shoes - Jennifer Weiner
10) Best Friends Forever - Jennifer Weiner
11) Pictures of You - Caroline Leavitt
12) Sacred Acre The Ed Thomas Story - Mark Tabb
13)The Help - Kathryn Stockett

TwO: Project Life 365
This year I am to take part in Project Life 365 a photo journal documenting each day of the year. I'm excited to share my year in photos! Basically Project Life 365 puts out a topic each day and you find something in your life that matches that topic that day. I will post pictures to my Facebook and Twitter each day then do a weekly recap on the blog. If you want to learn more about the project check out their website http://projectlife365.com/blog/

ThReE:  Blog more
I started this blog three and a half years ago to document our family adventures, well I did a great job while I was pregnant and a pretty good job Kinley's first year but then it has dropped off my radar. I want to get back to documenting our adventures. I'm not saying blog everyday but when new, fun, or exciting things happen I want to put them in writing. I also attempted to keep up two blogs for a while this one about our family and the other one about me. That was ok for a little while but then I  discovered because so many things overlaped between our family stuff and the stuff I was writing about me that I was never quite sure where to put the information I wanted to write about therefore from now on everything is going on this blog. You will hear not only about our family things but also things I want to talk about such as these goals.

FoUr: Monthly date nights with Jason
This one is very important to me. The other three are things that I would like to do but this one is very important for a healthy marriage. Jason and I have a hard time dedicating time just to the two of us so I want to make that a priority this year. Now that we live in a new town I think we will be able to find plenty of new things to do and one of those things is hopefully taking golf lessons this spring at the local golf course.

FiVe: Cooking/Eating at home
Before we left Iowa Jason and I started cooking at home based on a pin on Pinterest about a 6 Week Meal Planning guide. This thing was seriously made for dummies! Jason and I are what I would qualify as "picky eaters" so when I first looked at this I thought NO WAY! but then I thought we needed to start eating outside our normal box. We also agreed we needed to start branching out so that Kinley would too because the last thing the world needs in another picky eater. We did really great for the first two weeks then Memorial Day came around and we traveled for five days then I got my interview at Central, then we moved, then yada, yada, yada... so we have agreed that we need to get back on eating healthier and eating at home! At this point we don't plan to follow the 6 Week Meal plan to a T as I also have a subscription to eMeals so our goal is look through both plans and find things we like each week.

There might be more goals that come up though out the year but for now those are the five I'm starting with. We hope you have an happy, healthy, and wealthy 2013! Happy New Year!
