38 Week Appointment

We had our 38 week appointment on Tuesday and everything went well. Jason and I were thinking about how important these appointments are but at the same time it takes more time for the two of us to drive to the doctor (me from work and Jason from home) then it does for our whole appointment! Oh well, it will all be worth it in the end!

The nurse said there was a trace of protein in my urine but nothing to be worry about. When it gets to this time in the pregnancy there is so much going on in your body that sometime you kidneys can't keep up so as long as it just a trace then it is fine. She also checked my blood pressure which looked great and the heartbeat which was strong. Neither Jason or I can remember what it was but it had got up quite a lot from last week.
We met with Dr. Rellihan which is my least favorite doctor to meet with because of her quick nature however this week I was glad we met with her. She was been the most informative doctor we have seen recently. Dr. Rellihan came in and  measured my belly which was about 37 and a half maybe 38 so still a little on the small size to right on. She also felt her and said her head was still down and it a good position for delivery. My cervix has not changed any from last week so no new progress. We did learn two new things during our visit; 1) Dr. Rellihan is guessing she will be 7-7 1/2 pounds at delivery and 2) Dr. Rellihan said that the current position she is in right now as well as where my cervix is there is no reason I will not make it to my due date maybe even a little past! Yeah! So far I am still pretty comfortable, nothing to much to complain about. I know all of that can change on a whim but I think we can make it another week and half without it getting too bad. I know this is the silliest reason to want to make it to my due date but I just really don't want to go back to work full time until after August 1st so as long as she doesn't come before May 10th I will not have to go back to work before August 1st!

A few people have been asking for new belly pictures so here is my 36 and 38 week pictures.

36 weeks

38 weeks

Not much as changed except my feet/ankles swell much quicker now then they did 2 weeks ago. Luckily it has been pretty cool here so that helps to keep the swelling out!

On another note, thank you to everyone for your thoughts, prayers and words of love for my mom and our family. She is doing really well and is getting excited to come home on Friday. The doctors said she is doing great and has been a good patient so far. Please continue to pray her second surgery goes well on Friday then the checkups go well after that!
