Here is our final belly picture!
41 Weeks!
I am still feeling good and not super uncomfortable. We went to the doctor at 2pm today and here is a quick recap of our visit:
-I was hooked up to a monitor for about 30 minutes to watch her heartbeat as well as see if I was having any contractions. I was having contractions about 5 minutes apart but I wasn't feeling them so I guess that is a plus! She was not very active for the first fifteen minutes so they did an sounds test with her to help her wake up. Basically they had this tube looking thing that they put up to my belly in three different places and when she pushed a button on the tube it made a noise and vibrated which they said should stimulate her. She quickly woke up and they could see her heartbeat moving like they wanted it to.
-I then had my normal check up where they measured my belly and check my cervix. Dr. Rasmussen said that I was dilated to a 2 and she though a little more than 50% effaced. She decided that I did not need to come back tonight to start the Cervidil. She thought I had a "favorable cervix" which I asked her what that meant and she said basically it meant she thought my body will naturally take over with a little help and I would still be able to have a vaginal birth.
So here is the plan for Tuesday morning:
-We will arrive at the hospital at 8am and get checked in.
-They will then break my water hoping that my body will take over at that point with contractions and dilation.
-If my body doesn't take over then they will start Poticen which will help my body start having regular contractions.
That is about all we know at this point. We are taking our computer with us to the hospital and Jason will be updating the blog as soon as we have any news. If you are the praying type please send up an extra prayer that we have a safe delivery and a healthy baby. We are both getting super excited to meet her and can only hope everything goes smoothly. Thank you all for the love and support and the next time we will be posting we will have a new addition to our family!
