Kinley had a great day today! Mom, Dad and Kinley are finally settling into a little bit of a routine which is nice for all three of us. She was wide awake at 4am and again at 8am for her morning feedings. She is doing a great job of sleeping about 4 hours at night so that is great for Mom and Dad as we are able to get some sleep just broke up into smaller parts. Her doctor was in around 8:30am said she is looking better and better each day. She also said as soon as she has completed 7 days of her antibiotic she can be discharged and she gets to head home! We checked with the nurse and she will receive her last treatment at 11pm on Tuesday night so we will be able to go home first thing on Wednesday morning! The doctor also said that as soon as her 11am antibiotic treatment was over we could take her off her IV. She still has the shunt in so they can give her antibiotics but at least we don't have an extra cord hanging on her! Speaking of her shunt, last night after her 10pm feeding her vein blew out so they had to stick her again but this time they were able to put it in her left arm. She did a great job and didn't even fuss or cry the whole time! What a great baby! After they were done getting the new IV in she went straight to sleep and slept a good 4 hours again!
Also, Kinley got to meet her Uncle Anthony for the first time today. This was an extra special meeting since today is Uncle Anthony's 25th birthday! Kinley was great the first time Anthony and Amy were in to see her but then she became more fussy the second time. I think it was a combination of being hungry and her IV coming out that we didn't know about at the time. Anyway, Happy Birthday Uncle Anthony! We hope you had a great day and thanks for sharing it with us!
Happy Birthday!
