Day 4 & 5

Saturday, May 22
Today was pretty uneventful. Kinley and I continue to work on feeding and getting into a routine and she is getting better everyday so that is great! The doctor was in around lunch time and he said she is looking much better. He is hopeful to have her off her oxygen by the end of the weekend and her IV early next week. At this point they are lowering her oxygen all the time so she will be a normal room air very soon. As for the IV we have to wait until she is eating more regularly so they know she is staying hydrated. As much as I want my baby to have all the wires and tubes off her, I also want to make sure she is healthy. I am most scared of taking her home and then she get something and is worse off. They said babies like her (born with a fever, maybe an infection and have had a long birth) can go down hill very quickly if they do go home too early and the hospital didn't catch something so that is why it is important for her to be here under their care.

We enjoyed spending time with Grandma Dee and Grandpa Kevin today. They have been such a huge help to us and we were so glad they were here for her birth!

NO MORE OXYGEN!
Kinley had a great day today! She slept from Mid-night to about 7am today without needing a feeding so that was amazing for mom and dad! I was able to go back to my room and get a good nights sleep while Jason stayed with her in her room. The nurses even woke her up during the night to take her vitals and draw some blood but she went right back to sleep! Yeah for a sleeping baby! I was able to feed her around 7:30am and she did a great job. We continue to work together and hopefully we will keep getting better at it each day. The doctor was in around 11:30am and clear her to come off her oxygen so I got to see my baby's cheeks without any tubs! I might be a little bias but her cheeks are pretty darn cute, maybe even the cutest in the world!
Our baby with no oxygen!
Nothing else to eventful for the day. I will try to post with any big news or updated every few days!

Side note:
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of our family and friends who have called, stopped by, emailed, facebooked, text or just said an extra prayer for us. It means more to us then you will ever know! We are so blessed with the support we have in our life. We love you all!
